The Role

We are searching for Graduates to join our growing team in Sydney office. You will have a positive, innovative mindset with strong commercial and interpersonal skills, and a desire to deliver exceptional customer service.

The position will provide successful candidate the opportunity to commence their career in insolvency and be mentored by industry specialists. We are also committed to supporting you in further studies to become CA/CPA qualified.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency team you’ll coordinate and progress a variety of engagements. Day to day you’ll be involved in:

  • Assisting in co-ordinating and conducting formal insolvency matters such as Court Liquidations, Creditors Voluntary Liquidations, Members Voluntary Liquidations, Receiverships, Small Business Restructures and Voluntary Administrations

  • Assisting with Independent Business Reviews and Pre-Lending reviews for financial institutions

  • Preparing correspondence to key stakeholders, such as management, employees, creditors and investors, with a high level of professionalism

  • Preparing lodgements and statutory correspondence for client matters and internally, including correspondence with the ATO and the ASIC as well as ad hoc administrative tasks

  • Communicating with clients in person, via telephone and email

  • Assisting with and maintaining all cash books, files and monthly reconciliations

  • Participating in business development, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and across the HoganSprowles network.

Skills and Education Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in an accounting or finance related field

  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously when required

  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel

  • Highly motivated individual who takes pride in their work

  • High level of attention to detail
